Are you stumped on how to bring a sense of coziness and warmth to your home? These are my personal favorites that I implement in my house.

Blankets Everywhere
I know this might sound cliche, especially because blankets are the epitome of being cozy, but buy all the blankets. Make all the blankets. Gift all the blankets to others and maybe have a couple gifted to you. I can’t tell you how many times I have had friends and family come over to my house and curl up with my blankets. PEOPLE WANT TO BE COZY… well most people. Throw one over the back of your couch. Build a blanket ladder (Click here for an easy tutorial.) Toss one on the bottom corner of your bed. Put them everywhere!
Warm Toned Paint
Let me tell ya. Warm toned paint is where it is at. This can range from a beautiful, almost white beige to a dark evergreen with warm golden undertones. There are so many options for warm colors, don’t feel limited to just light colors or just dark. Play with them all! “Talia! I don’t like warm tones. Does that mean my home isn’t cozy?” ABSOLUTELY NOT. Even if you integrate just ONE of these cozy ideas into your home, it will make the world of a difference.
Scent
How your home smells can play a huge role in how welcoming and cozy it is. You can do anything from candles to essential oils to wax melts to linen sprays. I know some of you might come after me… I usually burn candles in my home (EEEK!), but I’m wanting to make the switch to diffusing oils. The best part is that you do not have to stick to a specific scent! It can change with your mood, the seasons, a random smell that you found and really like (me with neroli right now LOL), ANYTHING!

Plants or Florals
Greenery and florals bring such beauty in to a home whether they are real or fake (I’m about 70 plants down the rabbit hole myself… it’s fine. I’m fine.) There’s an elegance and homey feeling that plants give off, especially when they are real AND they clean your air. This helps so much with the scent aspect. Even if you forget about your scent, your air in your home will already feel cleaner. Click here for a list of my easiest plants to take care of!
LIGHT
I cannot stress this enough. Light plays such a role with the coziness of a home. I personally LOVE natural light. I think I’d die without it. There are a couple different light aspects I want to touch on!

Natural – Not only is natural light a healthy thing to crave but it also makes the home feel airy and open.
Overhead Lighting – A lot of people feel that overhead lighting in a home can be very harsh. I agree 100%. HOWEVER. My husband has all of the overhead lights in our home on dimmers. THIS IS KEY. If you can dim that main light in your house, it creates the comfiest of settings.
Accent Lighting – Lamps. Floor lamps. Cool nightlight type things. Small accent light is my favorite because it’s not so ‘in your face’ like overhead lighting can sometimes be.
Choose your lighting wisely!!!
Overall, there are several different aspects you can change in your home to make it a little cozier. If these handful of options aren’t doing it for you, THAT IS OKAY! Everyone’s style and level of coziness is different. You just have to find your own personal touches!
With Love,
Talia
